EDIT: I'm not really drawing to a close, I'm just making some changes.
I'm very sorry to do this, as I care about the mission of this blog greatly, but for several different reasons (which probably aren't interesting), I think the best thing to do is say goodbye.
EDIT: As of now, find HDC on Facebook for a continuation. I am keeping up on there with interesting quotes and anything else that inspires me. :)
Keep up the good fight, my friends. It's definitely worthwhile to spread Reason far and wide. I'm sorry I have to change the format but hopefully the Facebook page will be a good venue to have a conversation instead of me pontificating on here. I look forward to seeing you over there.
Love,
Neece
Feel free to email me or leave comments below with any questions, etc.
Please don't end the blog. You post many interesting articles and it'd be a shame if it were gone. You can always just take a vacation and return to the blog at a later date.
ReplyDeleteThanks, The Letter D. I really appreciate your thoughts. I'll take them into account.
DeleteNeece: It's been a real pleasure following you these past ... 4? years. I understand the amount of time and effort it takes to post on a regular basis, and as much as would like to see you continue, I can't blame you if you need to give priority to other things in your life. I hope we still get to hear from you occasionally.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tomato!
DeleteI really appreciate the kind words. I will keep the blog up and will keep posting to the Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/HeavingDeadCats
where I am hoping we can have an open discussion instead of me just pontificating.
Please feel free to join me over there. :)
And who knows, this might just be a vacation where I recharge my batteries and gather material. We'll just have to see what the FSM has in store for me. :P
WOW! I hope everything is OK in your realm - I have so enjoyed your blog, and was always happy when I saw one posted. Also appreciated all of the links on the page as well. Thanks for your hard work, thoughts, and musings over the years - You will be missed - best of everything to you and yours... :)
ReplyDeleteEverything is fine, thanks.
DeletePlease feel free to join me over at the Facebook Page:
https://www.facebook.com/HeavingDeadCats
where we can continue the discussion. :)
I really appreciate your kind words! :)
You'll be greatly missed, Neece. I've really enjoyed reading your posts. Of course other things come up and blogging can't be priority #1 for most of us (only a few can make it their profession) ... I feel like I'm in perpetual vacation mode on my blog, briefly punctuated by intervals of posting. ;) I second what D said above, that if you aren't sure you can always go on indefinite hiatus and reevaluate later. (I certainly won't unsubscribe, and I'll be happy to see you pop up in my RSS reader if you do start up again.)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, NFQ.
DeleteYes, the fact that blogging takes a lot of time and pays nothing is a big issue.
I will definitely keep up on the Facebook page:
https://www.facebook.com/HeavingDeadCats
where we can have a discussion instead of me just ranting. And you never know, it might just be a vacation. I really don't know. It's something I'm not ruling out.
Thanks again! :)
You know, I go away to the Reason Rally and this happens. I can see why you're closing up shop though. Blogging consistently is a part time job that doesn't pay. In case you ever want to do a guest post on Purgatory feel free to.
ReplyDeleteAfter writing this post, Andy, and thinking about it more, I decided to just change things instead of stop completely. I'm keeping up the Facebook page where we can have a conversation, so hopefully that will work for everyone. :)

Thanks for the invitation to blog over at Purgatory. I'd be honored to do that. If you have a topic you'd like me to write about, just send me an email and I'll be happy to see what I can come up with. :)
Keeping you alive for the people is one of the crucial tasks and keeping your words alive is not an easy job. if you have the chance then fulfill it.
